hide date shortcode doesn’t work
-
Has anyone had any luck removing the dates for testimonials? When I add the below shortcode, my testimonials go blank.
show_date="0"
-
Hey @cway!
I know I’ve spoken with several people who have been able to hide the date, and I haven’t heard of this issue yet.
When your testimonials disappear, does the rest of the page load? Or, does the page stop loading where the Testimonials should appear?
If the page loads, when you inspect the page (or View Source) do you see the Testimonials in the source? If you don’t see the content, do you at least see any easy_testimonial markup?
If you can shoot me a link to a web page with the issue, I can inspect from my browser too.
I would like to help you get this resolved!
All the best,
RichardHi, Richard. My client is using shortcodes to display each testimonial.
The rest of the page (header, footer) loads when the testimonials disappear.
When I view the source, there are no testimonials. I had this problem before.
I can’t leave the blank page up, but I can send you the source code. Let me know how I do that.
Thank you, Richard!Uh, oh. Now no testimonials are showing, even after I remove the hide date shortcode. http://www.ftcollinspersonaltrainer.com/success-stories/
I disabled JWPlayer and the testimonials show again.
Hey @cway!
Ok, thanks for letting us know.
If you reactivate JWPlayer, does the issue recur?
If so, can you try going to our plugin’s Compatibility options and un-check the Apply Content Filter option?
All the best,
RichardGood morning, Richard.
The issue recurs when I activate JWPlayer, again.Apply Content Filter is already unchecked. I played with those settings when this problem occurred.
Hey @cway!
Thanks for confirming. I should have been more clear, I realize – by the issue can you let me know if the Testimonials show but the Date is showing, too? Or, do you mean the Testimonials disappear.
Would you mind to share me a link to your public site with the Date showing, so I can inspect the classes? If nothing else works, we can certainly hide the date with CSS but I’m curious to know why it is showing in the first place.
Best,
RichardThe page is blank, except for the header and footer – no testimonial and no date when JWPlayer is activated.
http://www.ftcollinspersonaltrainer.com/success-stories/Hey @cway!
Do you mind to let me know which specific JWPlayer plugin you are using? I would like to try and reproduce this in our test environment to determine if we need to patch our plugin.
Best,

Hey @cway!
It looks like my previous message didn’t go through.
Are you using a particular WordPress plugin to add JWPlayer, or how have you implemented it on your site? I need to be able to reproduce the issue before I can move forward from this end.
Best,
RichardHi, Richard. I’m using the JWPlayer 6 plug-in.
I use shortcode to add a video to a testimonial
[jwplayer mediaid="140"]
From a testimonial, I click on Add Media. In there, I select the video and click the blue Add with JWPlayer button. It adds the above shortcode.

http://www.longtailvideo.com/I see there’s a JWPlayer 7. Maybe I’ll check that out.
Hello!
Assuming the updated JWPlayer fixed this issue, I will mark this topic as resolved.
All the best,
Richard
