On our new website, a general log-in and password is given to our non-profit’s participants, as “subscribers”. They can see the Dashboard and Profile links on the left side of the screen. Dashboard is fairly locked-down; nothing can be changed, although there are some update items I’d prefer to hide. The bigger issue is that the profile can be changed. Someone could change the email address or write something unfortunate in the bio. I’ve tried four plug-ins that limit user capabilities, but all indicate that subscribers can only “read”, which I suppose refers to actual the website pages. Is the only solution to hide the Dashboard and Profile links? If so, the only simple plug-in that I found isn’t tested with the latest WP version.
