Is there any way to hide what is in the sidebars so that non members will see just a 'blank' where members would see content "ie polls etc"

  2. Hi @redknite,

If you want to hide sidebar widgets from non logged in users and display it to logged in users then you can try using the solution posted on the following pages.

If you want to display text widgets to the members having particular membership level then try wrapping the content of the text widget in the membership access level shortcodes. you will have to enable execution of shortcodes in the text widget by using the solutions posted on the following pages.
