• I’m trying to remove some widgets from my sidebar but can’t find any options to do this. When I go to the widgets cp, there is nothing sitting in the sidebar. I don’t want to delete them, though, in case I want to use them later. The ones I want to remove are archives, calendar, tags, and blogroll. I am using Modern Style theme by FlexiThemes. Thanks ahead of time for any help!

  • I think you just drag and drop the undesired widget back to the bottom section “Inactive Widgets”

In appearance widgets you see that side bar does not have anything as soon as you drag one, the ones that are set as default will not show but they still will there on left for you to drag them in sidebar so that you can use in future.

The problem is that there aren’t any there to drag out… the sidebar box is completely empty but archives, calendar, tags, blogroll, etc are all showing up on the blog. Not sure how to remove them if I can’t drag them out in the widgets control panel.

Do you any widgets on left hand big box drag any one you want on sidebar that is empty on right.

I want to remove them from the sidebar, not put them in the sidebar.

they will not be there when you drag one over example just drag search widget over to right and go to your page you will only see search widget there you will not see the ones that were there.

Ok, I found the file I can delete them from directly… sidebar.php which is in the appearance>editor control panel. I saved a backup of the original file and deleted the widgets I don’t want and it’s working.

    Oh, I see what you’re saying… that’s much easier 😀

    Thanks!
