Sorry that you ran into issues here!
I checked and the default behavior of BD is to not show a field if it’s left blank. That is, if you don’t put anything into the field, neither the label nor the value should show up.
From what you describe above, it sounds like you have data in that field, but don’t want it to show up. Is that correct?
If so, just delete the content from that field and your field will no longer display.
If that’s not correct and I misunderstood, can you show me a screenshot of the listing from the admin side with the field and a link to it?

Under Event Specs & Links you will see Event Website and Contact are linked. In the screenshot of the backend you will see that the show_website has content, but the show_contact field does not yet both are showing up.

Is not part of the business directory as far as I can tell. It looks to be something different–perhaps this is coming from a different plugin? We don’t have an “event manager” which is what this page is doing here.
Is this coming from another plugin you have installed?
I am so sorry, that is my mistake. I have been using the business directory and event manager on that site so often that they blended together and when I encountered this issue I just thought you would know the answer.
