Hide Backend disables admin login

To keep it simple, once I enable to hide backend feature and set the new slug at http://www.domain.com/new-slug the admin page changes.

While it does appropriately block access to domain.com/wp-admin.php and domain.com/wp-admin it also removes the “log-in” button, the link to return to homepage, and the “forgot password” link as well. How should this be circumvented?
