# Hide Author

 * I’ve selected to hide all author comments, but the author comments are still 
   showing up. Is there some way I can resolve this? Thanks!

 * Sorry for the delay getting back to you. I don’t think this is possible at the
   moment but we could look at that in the next version. Can I ask how you’re hiding
   the author comments – is this via a plugin?

 * Hi Andy,
    Yes, this is regarding the “Better Recent Comments” plugin. In the 
   widget settings, under “visibility,” it gives the option to “Hide if” — and then
   there’s a selection of categories. So I’ve selected hide if “author” is — then
   there’s another drop down with options — and I’ve tried selecting my name, so
   that it would be “hide if author is Stefanie” — but that didn’t work. It didn’t
   hide any of my comments. So I tried “hide if author is ‘all author pages'” and
   that also did not hide the author comments. Does that make sense? I like showing
   the comments readers have made on the website, but not necessarily my replies.
   I’m hoping there’s a way to just show the readers’ comments. Thanks for any input.

 * Hi Stefanie,
 * The visibility option is added via the Jetpack plugin (or part of WordPress itself
   if you’re using WordPress.com). The visibility option controls where the widget
   is shown or hidden on your site, depending on what page you are viewing. For 
   example, ‘show if viewing the Contact page’, or ‘hide if the current category
   is “Travel”‘. Unfortunately these options are not related to (and therefore don’t
   control) the comments displayed by our Better Recent Comments plugin.
 * The “show/hide if author is” option would show or hide the widget on what’s called
   the “author archive” page, which is a page showing all posts written by a particular
   author. It won’t have any effect on the comments shown in our widget unfortunately.
 * At the moment, there isn’t a way to achieve what you want with our plugin, but
   I’ll make a note of it and let you know if this feature becomes available.
