Hide all other entries + Separate directories

both the pages uses the pro version with the shortcode https://docs.codeat.co/glossary/shortcodes/#glossary-index-premium

a) the search is just a fuzzy in the page, the implementation was just very simple to allow the users to have very few parameters to set up to get a search in the page otherwise it will be very complicated to use. So to answer, no it is not possible to hide item in the page, it just mark the ones matching and adding the arrows buttons to move in the page.

b) Yes this is possible using the taxonomies in the post type and use the parameter in the shortcode to just generate a list based on that collection.

So for a plugin that does a search in a page like we do in that shortcode I don’t know if there is something.
If we are talking about a wordpress search plugin that does something you should look in the WordPress repository.
The plugin use the standard post types for terms so any plugin for search will works if support other post types.

No, this plugin is used also with more terms.
In this case I suggest generating different pages with the terms, like divided by topic as a page with 10000 links is not very liked by Search engine as example, and it is very difficult to read.

The options are 2 and you need to think based on your type of content, what is the best option for you based on the volume, how much do you update them (is not easy to have a solution for every case).

• Shortcode: create various pages with the content divided by taxonomy
• Archives: use the wordpress native archive (or together with the shortcode) like the category of blog posts, in this way they are divided by the taxonomy you have automatically

So in the case of shortcode you have a whole page with all of them and you can use the search itself, or with archive you can use the wordpress native search that will include also the glossary terms.
