Great plug-in, but if you have bbPress hidden forums, this plugin is including them in the sitemap file (even though they are protected and give 404). This is potentially very dangerous from some users as its leaking topic titles which may be confidential. It seems this plugin is running with the perspective of the logged in Admin rather than as a non-logged in visitor, which is what google bot or new visitor would be. Hope this can be resolved soon! I’d be happy to give it a 5 star review and upgrade to PRO on my two domains if it can be fixed.

    Hi,

It is possible to select pages that must be displayed in sitemap.xml in the Pro version of the plugin http://bestwebsoft.com/plugin/google-sitemap-pro/

Umm, that doesn’t address this issue at all…

I have *thousands* of pages which are not accessible to the public (return 404, etc). They should not be included in the sitemap in any case. Please fix this bug, and I will be happy to buy your Pro version.

    Hi again,

    We have considered your question.
    1) If you do not need the whole forum in the sitemap – unmark sitemap beside the Forum post type in the admin panel on the plugin settings page.
    2) If you need the forum in the sitemap, but without private posts – the sitemap is updated when the post is updated. In this case the bbPress post type does not reflect the status of the post (for example, if it is Private or Hidden) in standard hooks, that is initially the forum is registered as Public when bbPress is created, also if you update it, the standard status in the standard hooks is not changed. For this reason the sitemap cannot determine the status of the bbPress forum correctly and includes the link to the sitemap.

    Here 2 variants are possible:
    1. you can update the sitemap manually – go to the sitemap settings page and mark “update sitemap” and save change.
    2. you can order a paid customization, since the status is determined by the custom functionality.

Thanks for the response. I have filed the bug with bbPress, since you seem to indicate it is an issue on their end with how they advertise the status of their content.

bbPress hidden forums are very common though, if its possible to work around it on your end I think that would be a pretty obvious thing for you guys to do, at least in your Pro version.

But I can do the “customizations” for my site myself if needed.

As we have already told you – we will consider this question.
