Is it possible to have a category of even that is hidden from calendars by default.

My use case is as follows. I use the calendar for our school website and we have different categories of event that we display meetings, school tripes, discos, etc.

I’d like to store the daily canteen menus as recurring events. However I don’t want the menu events to appear on the main calendar along with everything else. I’d rather just use a widget to put them on a specific page.

I think the widget bit is possible, but I’m not sure if I can if I can leave these menu category events of the main calendar.

I have the non-profit version of the software so have access tot he filterbar plugin, and was wondering whether I could set up hidden form elements to set up which categories of event to include.

    Hi andrewwestley,

Thanks for getting in touch. This may well be possible with some customization, but that’s not something we can assist you with. You might try using the Hidden or Private Event features available under Publicize on the Event editor page. That might help get you started on a solution for this 🙂

We also have some handy resources that might be helpful for you:

Themer’s Guide – provides an overview of how to customize the plugin’s frontend appearance.
Tutorials – useful tips and tricks for changing how the plugin looks and behaves.

Good luck, and thanks for using The Events Calendar!
