• Hi

I use Akismet on my WordPress sites and I have noticed lately that some spam comments are getting through.

However I have created a “test” page for people to see what your system thinks is comment spam OR not. By using the same parameters you pass to check WP comments etc Name, Email, URL, IP and Comment.

A comment that comes up on this tool as “Askimet thinks this comment is spam” is regularly passed by WordPress as not spam until I mark it.

Is there a reason for this?

An example was this comment I got today which was allowed onto my site but when I used the tool at > http://www.strictly-software.com/comment-spam-test it comes back as “Akismet thinks this is comment spam.”

    The details were

    Name
    http://www.Bubblews.com

    Email
    ankerolleston@gmail.com

    Website
    http://www.Bubblews.com/news/1775166-battlefield-4-free-origin-product-codes-premium-cd-keys-giveawa

    IP Address
    142.91.79.253

Actually no matter if someone doesn’t be aware of after that its
up to other viewers that they will assist, so here it occurs.

So WP Akismet passed this as OK but my tool says your system thinks its spam. I am just wondering why and if there is a delay or you use WordPress re-actions from admin (spam, ok) to decide PURELY for WP sites and not other sites that use your free API etc.

    Thanks

    Rob
