  • My company unveiled our new website a few months ago. The launch press release focused on WordPress as our platform of choice.

I thought I would share our website for your viewing pleasure.

    Validation/Compatibility Notes:
We’re working offline on resolving the XHTML validation errors. They’re simple (and silly) errors to fix.

We’ve tested the website on vanilla installations of all major browsers, including the latest version of Safari. Some visitors reported that the website renders incorrectly on Safari, but we’ve found no problems.

We’ve also taken a different approach to cross-browser compatibility. We don’t guarantee proper functionality on all configurations of all browsers, but if you experience any issues on a vanilla installation of a major browser, tell us and we’ll resolve them.

  • Two basic things that you should think about:

The homepage didn’t announce what Heretic is all about, and it should. It’s a splash page, essentially. Inefficient web design by any sensible standards.

Secondly, why reverse out all your text from dark backgrounds? Considering that your site is essentially all copy, it is tedious trying to read through all that text on a computer screen. Even in the print media, reversed out text is used sparingly by the best designers.

I’ve been a designer for more than a decade. I can tell you, from my experience, that even the best designers don’t think alike. As for your criticism, it’s purely academic.
