 * Hello again,
 * > I think I have WP 2.0?
 * You have 2.0.1, probably 2.0.11.
    Like yesterday, I don’t know much about that
   version. Does it have the ‘old’ upload button? What happens when you try to upload
   a photo, nothing at all or do you get an error? You did resize the photo to a
   normal size, right? Not that you try to upload a 5 megapixel photo of a couple
   of Mbs or something.

 * When I upload the picture, it just says the file name of the picture (it doesn’t
   actually show it) and when I click on it I get a drop-down menu with things like“
   Using Thumbnail, Using Original, Not Linked, Linked to File, Send to editor”
   etc.
    but when I make it so that it shows original, and I don’t want it linked
   because I just wanted it to show the picture, then when I send it to the editor
   all that comes up on my webpage and on the editor is the file name of the picture,
   not the actual picture. I had this sort of problem with uploading a file, but
   I went into my host control panal and loaded it into my wp-admin folder…I did
   the same for this picture but it didn’t help.

 * Ah, in that case I think that you use the ‘code editor’ instead of the ‘visual
   editor’. If I remember correctly you can end with clicking a button that puts
   the `<img src` code in the text editor and that’s when you’re done. Just click“
   save and continue editing” and “preview” the post and the photo will most likely
   be there.

 * what’s the difference between the “code editor” and the “visual editor”..I never
   saw those terms before.
    And what is the button that puts the <img src code in
   the text editor? :/ I’m sorry, but I just don’t understand a lot of this stuff.

 * Well, the “visual editor” is (like the term says): visual, but I don’t know if
   there already was a visual and a not-visual editor in 2.0. You said something
   like you can choose thumbnail or normal, the image linked or not, at the end
   it’ll probably say “send to editor” and then in the part where you type the text
   of your post it will say `<img src=etcetera` and if that is the case, the image
   should be visible in the preview of the post (after saving of course).
    Like
   I said yesterday, since we’re about 1,5 year and 5 WP versions ahead of you,
   it’s hard to talk you through things.

 * when i click “send to editor” it just puts the file name of the picture into
   the text box, not the actual picture, and when i type text after that nothing
   about <img src=etcetera comes up

 * if i could get a better version of wordpress i would, but i’m not sure how since
   im using it from the netfirms control pannel.

 * > when i click “send to editor” it just puts the file name of the picture into

 * That’s fine, you just see the html of the post, apparently you don’t have a _visual_
   editor. If you make sure not to type the text between `<img src` and the closing`/
   >` it should work.
 * > when i type text after that nothing about <img src=etcetera comes up
 * I don’t understand that phrase. When you click “save and continue editing” and
   then “preview post”, do you still see the image-path and nothing of your text?

 * i didn’t put any text in, i just want to get the picture working first.
    you
   said “If you make sure not to type the text between <img src and the closing /
   > it should work.” and I don’t know what that means. All that comes up on my
   preview and on my website is the file name of the picture, not the picture itself.

 * There should be something like `<img src="http://www.johnmorgan.ca/wp-content/
   uploads/2008/05/image.jpg />` which is the path to the image. If it is in your
   editor like that, you should see an image on preview _if_ of course the image
   is uploaded, but I don’t suppose you would think of that path yourself.
    What
   if you published the post you are trying to make so I can have a look?

 * How about a pre-set blog, such as WordPress.COM, blogger, blogspot or whatever
   they are called?

 * on [http://www.johnmorgan.ca](http://www.johnmorgan.ca)
    i’m just trying to add
   a picture to the welcome page for now, there is no text ready yet to add to it.
   this is what i did so far:
 * In manage page i’m in the welcome page, and in the upload box below the editor
   i uploaded the picture…and it just has the file name for the picture: JMHype.
   jpg
    When i click on that I get the drop down menu and I make sure that “Using
   original” and “not linked” is showing, because I don’t want a link I just wnat
   the picture to show up on the page. When I lick send to editor a little tiny
   picture box shows up but it quickly changes to the name of the file: JMHype.jpg.
   and then on the website it comes up as that as well, just that file name. This
   is also at the bottom of the editor: Path: div » em » strong » img
 * In my control pannal of netfirms I just added JMHype.jpg into the wp-admin folder,
   like I did for that file that I have on the Issues section of [http://www.johnmorgan.ca](http://www.johnmorgan.ca)

   but that hasn’t helped my picture problem.
