Help with trackback url for WP

  • Hi
I am trying to run a script but it asks the followung:
    ## Set this to your URL of your blogging application that accepts trackback pings.
    ## Review your blogging applications documentation on how to send trackbacks.
    ## For MT the trackback url might look like: http://www.yourblog.com/cgi-bin/mt/mt-tb.cgi/1
I don’t really understand what the ‘URL of your blogging application that accepts trackback pings’ actually means.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

  • I would just put in your blog url. 🙂

i think the trackback url is pointed to wp-trackback.php for example…
    http://yourdomain.com/wp-trackback.php

Every post should have a trackback URI associated with it, it should be in the comments section.

She said this in her post: ## Set this to your URL of your blogging application that accepts trackback pings. Which would be her blog URL, correct?
    Did it work Fiona?

    Add-on question here:

Is this by design or a bug? A link to get a trackback URI from one of my posts only appears after at least 1 comment has been posted. If there are no comments, there is no link to anything resembling a “Get a Trackback URI Here” link.

Example: This post here from my site

I got a trackback to show up but only after I created that one comment. Is this how it’s supposed to work??

    I’m using WP 1.5
    I’m using the Almost-Spring theme
I’ve required registration to post a comment (this is done only to avoid comment spam, though some still comes through) — I also require that every comment is approved first by the admin.
