  • I’m getting discouraged. I think I’ve managed to get the Header file almost done but I haven’t even touched the Footer file. Basically, I already have an established theme for my website and now need my WordPress to continue that theme.

    Here is what my wordpress needs to look like:

    And here is what I have managed to accomplish so far:

    In doing this I deleted the search element and can’t seem to remove that text based Title before the journal begins without removing something important.

    Please help? Thanks! :]

    To remove the title, you need to edit the index.php template file in your theme and remove <h2><a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>"<?php the_title(); ?></a></h2>.

    You may also find the page on theme development useful.

    Don’t be discouraged – you are doing a great job!!

    I know you are working on shuffling a lot of things around right now, but if you keep on top of the validation errors you will save yourself a lot of time tracking down errors and incompatabilities later. You currently have 5 errors, but they are easy fixes.

    I removed that h2 element, but it didn’t seem to remove the title. Thanks for the link. Perhaps I will just give up and try again next year working my way through that Theme Development.

    I’m sure my errors are from Div elements and closing tags right? Oh well, thanks for your help, but I just can’t do it right now.

    Delete the text starting from:
    <div id="header">

    <div class="clearfix" id="middle-contents">

    but to NOT delete the line <div class="clearfix" id="middle-contents">

    DO delete the <div id="header"> line.

    That will (should?) get rid of all that extra space as well as the title.
