 * Hellp! I am struggling a bit with one thing in particular. It’s probably really
   simple to sort! Here is the link to my site [http://www.outsource-typing.com](http://www.outsource-typing.com).
   Now, on ever single page, e.g. “Home”, “Services”, etc it has the drop-down menu–
   fantastic – but it also (rather irritatingly) displays “Home”, “Services, etc.,
   below the header and at the top of the start of the text, if you see what I mean.
   I’m not great with HTML but have a very basic knowledge so I went in to see if
   I could delete the bloomin’ thing and when I appear to remove it, it removes
   the link to the page – ARgggggGHhhhh! If someone could help with this I’d be
   very, very happy indeed 🙂

 * I’m sorry but your chosen theme is not released under GPL. Non GPL products are
   not welcome in the WordPress community. Official WordPress policy states that
   all plugins and themes that are publicly released are required to adhere to [http://wordpress.org/about/gpl/](http://wordpress.org/about/gpl/)
 * Any support requests for non-GPL products are usually ignored, in the interests
   of supporting the community and its freedoms. I would also strongly recommend
   that read [this article](http://www.chipbennett.net/2010/12/10/only-download-wordpress-themes-from-trusted-sources/)
   and consider changing to a theme from a reputable source asap.

 * Ooh, I had absolutely no idea. I chose the theme from the tons that seem to be
   available through WordPress (I didn’t – as the article mentions, download from
   an internet search!). I had assumed, as they are all readily available to apply
   to your site through WordPress, that they are all safe to use. Is there a warning
   hidden somewhere? Hmmmm. Thanks for the article.

 * Okay, sorry – I’ve now downloaded a theme from Themelab and it’s doing the same
   thing with the “Home” but now it’s adding the date, too – how do I get rid of
   this?! It’s driving me bonkers. Thanks again. F

 * > I chose the theme from the tons that seem to be available through WordPress
 * The only themes available through WordPress are from [http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/](http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/)
   I’d suggest that you try one of these.

 * I am really confused now. I chose my theme through my WP admin login, thusly:“
   Appearance”, “Themes”, then there are two options “Manage themes” and “Install
   themes”. Then there’s the option to search themes by keyword and there are many
   below options in terms of “Colour”, “Columns”, “Width”, “Features”, and “Subject”.
 * Why are these themes offered through the WP admin login area if they aren’t safe
   to use?!!

 * Also, I have just double-checked my theme and it states:
 * “License: GNU General Public License v2.0”
 * What does the GNU part mean? Esmi – can you explain for me how you can tell it’s
   not a licensed theme, so that maybe I can avoid any apparently “licensed” but
   actually unlicensed themes in future?
 * Much appreciated.

 * no idea if you changed your theme, but right now you seem to be using this theme
   from [http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/cakifo](http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/cakifo)
 * (it always helps if you post these details with your topic)
 * you could use css to hide the page title, in style.css:
 * `.singular-page h1.page-title.entry-title { display: none; }`
 * or possibly start looking into _**page.php **_to find and remove the page title;
   some line with `<h1 class='page-title entry-title'>....`

 * Your original theme was not from WPORG but a 3rd party supplier and was clearly
   not licensed under GPL (the developer retained all copyrights).

 * If it claims it’s licensed – and you’re saying to me it’s actually not – how
   can I then tell myself (for future ref)? Why are third party suppliers allowed
   to advertise themes within the WPORG admin login?
 * Thanks alchmyth! 🙂

 * Hello,
 * I’m the theme author of Cakifo.
 * Do you mean that you want to remove the “You are here: Home / Services” section?
 * If so, you should [create a child theme](https://github.com/jayj/Cakifo/wiki/Child-themes)
   and add this to your child theme setup function:
 * `remove_theme_support( 'breadcrumb-trail' );`
 * Hope that helps you. If not, feel free to ask again.
 * But if you have any question beside this one, I recommend that you signup for
   [Theme support on Theme Hybrid](http://themehybrid.com/club). You’ll find a section
   called “Cakifo” on the support forum.
 * [@esmi](https://wordpress.org/support/users/esmi/)
    Do you mean that Cakifo is
   not GPL? or did he/she use another theme at the time you wrote that?

 * Hi Jesper, thanks for your helpful response.
 * Sorry to butt in, Esmi, before you answer, but in response to Jesper’s question
   yes, I was using the Cakifo theme at the time Esmi wrote that.
 * Esmi writes:
 * “Your original theme was not from WPORG but a 3rd party supplier and was clearly
   not licensed under GPL (the developer retained all copyrights).”
 * What’s your response to the above, if you can comment?
 * It’s great that you’ve joined in on this. Look forward to hearing from you.

 * Before version 1.4, Cakifo was released under GPL but it used elements incompatible
   with GPL. But that was changed in 1.4 when Cakifo was added to the official theme
   directory. If that’s not the case, it’s a mistake. But since it’s got accepted,
   it should be totally licensed under GPL.

 * (For the avoidance of doubt, I briefly downloaded an alternative “test” theme
   from Themelab (as recommended by Esmi’s article link) last night. However, my
   original theme was and is Cakifo and I intend to use this going forward – if
   it’s safe to use). Thanks guys.

 * I have Cakifo version 1.4.4. What is the “official theme directory”? Is this
   the one I said earlier that I access through the WPORG admin login? This is where
   I found the Cakifo v1.4.4 and I haven’t updated it, it’s always been v1.4.4.
   Is this version licensed? (As soon as I get confirmation, I can become entitled
   to have my questions answered on the forums! So thanks 🙂
