Support » Plugins » Help with subscribe2

  • Hi, I just installed subscribe2 as a plugin for my WordPress blog. I didn’t actually create the page for people to subscribe, as I’d only like to manually add them.

However, I don’t understand why emails are not sending. I currently have three people, including myself, that are subscribed to my blog. I posted two different posts. I checked my email both times and there was nothing.

I also configured my subscriptions settings and still nothing.

Can someone provide a little help on this issue?

  • Hi. I recently installed subscribe2 (with postie) and after a few glitches, I finally got it to work. There are several reasons why you might not be getting emails. Are you using the latest version of subscribe2 and the latest version of WordPress? Make sure that the emails didn’t get put in the junk mail folder. Also, sometimes it can take up to 30 minutes for a post to show up, so you may just need to wait a bit. You might want to try looking through other posts on this subject to see if someone has an answer http://wordpress.org/tags/subscribe2. Hope this helps!

Hi. I have a similar problem, maybe the same. I came looking for an answer, though I have an idea that might help.

    First, I’m running WP2.0.2 with Subscribe2 V2.2.

As administrator, I receive 2 emails when I post, both look exactly the same, with an excerpt. I can’t tell whether it’s in plain text or HTML. My settings request the full HTML text, which I’m obviously not getting.

I have 10 people who “registered” as users of the site (allowing comments). It looks like only 1 of the 10 also took the second action to “subscribe” to the newsletter.

What I find confusing is that when a registered user attempts to subscribe, the message tells them to “You may manage your subscription options from your profile. Click here to manage your subscription settings.” When one clicks on that link, it looks like the user had already been subscribed to HTML Full text and all they were doing is managing it.

I think it is deceiving. My best guess is that registered users are not actually subscribed to the newsletter until they click on that link in the subscribe page (the one telling them to manage their subscription in their profile).

But this is hard to check out without sending out new posts to test this out.

    I hope this is helpful.

Can anyone tell me if I’m on track?

OK, it’s working after all. But it took approximately 12 hours, give or take, to deliver the emails. How can I speed this up?

Hi – I am still looking for an answer to my question, two posts before this. It’s long, so don’t want to copy it here. Confirmation that this is how this works would be most helpful.
    S.
