• Hi all, newbie here,

i am trying to get used to using the blog and all its functions.

one of the contributors for the blog is trying to use spanish symbols and is having a hard time doing it.

i was wondering what needs to be done in order to make them work?

    any help is greatly appreciated!

    thanks in advance

Nothing. Out of the box WP lets you write in any language – unless you changed the default encoding.
Eventually you can ask the contributor NOT to copy from word processors like MS Word.
Just type into the WP admin panel or if you need to copy: do it form a plain text editor like Notepad.

thanks for your quick response…..i will pass along the info about the notepad….

    feeling a bit dumb here,

i can’t find a away to put th ~ over the n or the ‘ over the vowels…

they do paste in fine though.

I don’t know how to help you about using Spanish characters… All I know that I have to have installed different languages on my computer for the keyboard (not really a WP question, more likely the “learn your own tool” category!).
With a simple Ctrl+Shift I can switch from one languages to another, e.g.
    English – aeiou
    Hungarian – aáeéiíoóöőuúüű
    Russian – йцукенг
    Romanian – şţăîâ
