# Help with simple shortcode php snippet

 * Hi, setting up a new site. I’m using the “Karma” theme and trying to allow the
   use of shortcodes in the blog excerpts on the blog page. ([http://bestmobilewebsitedesigner.com/sanford-design-com/blog/](http://bestmobilewebsitedesigner.com/sanford-design-com/blog/))
 * Used the following in the functions file but it doesn’t work.
 * ‘// Allow Shortcodes in the Excerpt field
    add_filter(‘the_excerpt’, ‘do_shortcode’);’
 * Contacted the theme developer and supposedly it would require extensive customization
   beyond their current scope of support. 🙂 lol
 * Can anyone help me with this please?
