Help with login security solution (2 posts)

    Greetings,

I am hoping to get some advice on what login security plugin to use.

I was using Login Lock but it broke on my site and the support forum seems to be a ghost town. The general consensus seems to be that it is a dead plugin.

I am looking at Limit Login Attempts and Login Security Solution.

Limit Login Attempts seems to have a lot of downloads and not many complaints, but it is out of date and it doesn't seem like it is updated very often.

Login Security Solutions on the other hand seems to have a developer who is very active supporting the plugin and there are not many complaints, but it's a very new plugin. I'm always a bit wary of trying plugins that haven't been tested on a lot of sites yet.

    Any advice is much appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hi Shawn:

I noticed you replied to another thread[1] saying you're glad to have taken the plunge and began using the Login Security Solution plugin. Thanks for the positive feedback. I hope you'll rate it, give it an "it works" vote, and give a donation, please.

For others who may be concerned with how young this plugin is, I and some other folks have done extensive testing. The core functionality is solid and we've covered a bunch of edge cases. If any holes are left, which I don't think there are, they're edge cases.
Plus this plugin has over 150 unit tests so you can rest assured that the plugin won't have regressions in future versions.
