Help with jumping to a place in a list

Hi, I am a brand new user to WP and I would like some help or a point in the right direction to do the following: Allow a user to enter a number in a search box and have the post or page (whichever would work best) scroll down to the numbered paragraph in the list. I’m sure something must exist for this because I’ve seen it many times on websites, but I have no clue where to start looking for the code, or widget or plugin that would do it. I would appreciate any help you can provide! Thanks!
