  • you can change formats using options at Events > Settings > Formatting > Locations

    btw, can’t visit the site due to password protected.

    oh… duh!

    I will take the passwording of for you all.

    I’ve been to Events > Settings > Formatting > Locations
    and tried messing about but I made it worse instead of better.

    I just wonder if someone could suggest some formatting settings/code to get it the way i want.

    Thanks

    Further to your reply agelonwl, I went again and checked Events > Settings > Formatting > Locations.

    The code i have in there for single events, Location is:

    <div style="float:right; margin:0px 0px 15px 15px;">#_LOCATIONMAP</div>
    <p>
    	<strong>Address</strong><br/>
    	#_LOCATIONADDRESS<br/>
    	#_LOCATIONTOWN<br/>
    	#_LOCATIONSTATE<br/>
    	#_LOCATIONREGION<br/>
    	#_LOCATIONPOSTCODE<br/>
    	#_LOCATIONCOUNTRY
    </p>
    <br style="clear:both" />
    #_LOCATIONNOTES

    <h3>Upcoming Events</h3>
    <p>#_LOCATIONNEXTEVENTS</p>

    Surely this code should make it look like I want on the page, like this:

    Stadthalle Bayreuth
    Ludwigstrasse 31
    Bayreuth
    95444
    Germany

    Anybody have any idea why wordpress is ignoring the breaks ?

    thanks

    Hiya,

    Can you try adding a space between the placeholders and BR tags please?

    Thanks,
    Phil

    Hey Phil

    Tried that… didn’t do anything, still the same.

    It seems that it’s taking no notice of whatever is put in format box.

    I think the problem here is you’re editing the location page format, yet the link you’re showing us is an event page (so you’d want to edit the event page format)

    Thanks Marcus, that was logical. 🙂

    I’ve now placed BR’s after the placeholders so it looks somewhat better.

    So my code is:

    <div style="float:right; margin:0px 0px 15px 15px;">#_LOCATIONMAP</div>
    	<p>
    	<strong>Date/Time</strong><br/>
    	#_EVENTDATES<br /><i>#_EVENTTIMES</i>
    </p>
    {has_location}
    <p>
    <strong>Location</strong><br/>
    	#_LOCATIONNAME<br>
    #_LOCATIONFULLLINE<br>
    #_LOCATIONCOUNTRY<br>
    </p>

    {/has_location}

    <P>
    #_ATT{notes}

    </p>

    <P>
    #_ATT{website}  <BR>
    #_ATT{tickets}
    </p>
    <br style="clear:both" />
    #_EVENTNOTES
    {has_bookings}
    <h3>Bookings</h3>
    #_BOOKINGFORM
    {/has_bookings}

    and it looks like this:

    http://www.boygeorgeuk.com/wordpress/events/stadthalle-bayreuth-bayreuth-germany/

    Can anyone suggest formatting that will keep the lines of the location text aligned.

    I’ve tried putting them in a table but that doesnt work.

    Thanks

    How do want them to be aligned?

    Just so that they appear on the page like this:

    Location
    Stadthalle Bayreuth
    Ludwigstrasse 31
    Bayreuth
    95444
    Germany

    instead of the first two lines being seperate to the rest.

    hmm… no angelo that won’t work either.

    guess i’m gonna have to either try another plugin or put up with it not quite looking right.

    if anybody does have any other ideas:

    🙂

    I think you need to create a modification to the #_LOCATIONFULLLINE so that a br tag is used instead of the comma.

    This tutorial should help:
