Support » Fixing WordPress » Help with editor/MSWord and plugin/theme

  • I have 3 questions:
    1. If I copy paste stuff from a word document which contains in-text hyperlinks, would the editor recognize the hyperlinks?

    2. Is there a theme or plugin available that will allow me show all my post’s titles in the homepage? As in a user should be able to see only the titles of my post in main page.

    3. Is there a way to disable menu?

I’m quite new to blogging and wordpress please bear with me. Thanks in advance!

  • 1. don’t paste from word at all. It will at best come out looking bad, at worst crash your site. Word includes lots of proprietary markup that jacks up WP, and web stuff in general. Anything going on the web should not be pasted from word

    2. Look at various archive plugins, you may find one you like, or, you can make a page template for an archive page. Just google WordPress Archive Page for lots of options. <?php wp_get_archives('type=postbypost') ?> is the code to display all your page titles within a page template if that helps

    3. Yes, what theme are you using? each theme is different, but you just disable/delete the menu code

Thanks for your response! I understand what you mean by not copying completely from Word. So how do I accomplish in text hyperlinking? I think i kind of know how to do that but if you could explain it would be helpful. Also are there any other methods to do the same?
