help with custom loop showing 1 post from 1 cat

    Hi there
    So I’m working on a template that will mix posts with page content. The template has a loop that queries posts from a certain category and then there is another loop to display below that the content for the page from the database. I pretty much have this down but I’m having a problem with the post part. It shows 1 post from the category but when I click the post nav buttons to go to the next post it just keeps showing the same one. Not sure if this is because I need to reset my query or not even limit the number of posts within the query. I just want the latest post from the category shown and then to be able to step through the rest with the nav buttons.

    can anyone recommend the best way to have a page that shows only the latest post from 1 category and includes nav buttons to let the user move through the rest of the posts one at a time?
