• Just getting started with wordpress and website in general. My goal is to set up a static home page (maybe with a widget that has my twitter feed) a separate blog page and a few static pages like resume, about me etc.

On my blog page I can’t figure out how to get rid of what seems to be an embedded welcome page and message. You can view this behavior on my website – http://www.paulraphael.net.

Any tips on accomplishing this as well as any other tips would be appreciated. I am using the Attitude theme, version 1.2.2

  • Go to “Posts” in your dashboard, and delete that page from there.

BTW, that image on your front page is 1.5MB. You need to reduce it in size, using GIMP or Photoshop.

You should really be asking your question on that theme’s support page:

    But …

    – create a new “Page” and name it Home
    – Settings > Reading > Reading Settings > Front page displays > A static page (select below) > Front page: > select “Home” > Save Changes
    – you can then set the layout (side bar or not, etc.) in the Appearance > Theme Options area

Doesn’t seem like a theme issue to me, though.

It partially is, because to get it to display with the desired elements, they must be set in this theme’s specific options area.

imho, definitively not a default WordPress issue.

as you are working with the ‘pro’ version of the theme, please contact the theme’s developer for support; http://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#Commercial_Products
