Help with a super slow wordpress site

Ever since I change my site to wordpress it has become really slow, I’ve tried optimizing, installing cache plugins, and it has not change. Can someone help me with this? What is it that I need to do? I have looked at all the help pages I could find, but I cant make it faster. I have pretty much the plugins that are required by the theme, no more than that.

I used the page speed insights by google, and I get:
– Reduce server response time in RED.
– Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content
– Leverage browser caching
– Minify JavaScript
I already installed W3 total cache, and set it up as instructed, so why do I keep getting those messages?.
