Help with a simple task!

    Hi there,

    I’m just starting to use WordPress with zero experience, its a daunting task but I’m loving every minute of it. A quick how to question that shows my level of worth I guess, but once I solve this issue it allows me to learn at my own pace.

    I need to just show a background and nothing else on my wordpress theme. I’m using the software as an add on tool via godaddy and all I want to do is put up a background image as my holding page for my site. It sounds crazy but I don’t have the knowledge yet to code this in and all the themes to cheat this have widgets, etc that get in the way!

    Help me! Solving this issue means I can take my time in learning everything at my own pace, so any tips on idiots guides etc would be a great help!

    Hi ianmatto,

    I would actually suggest using a plugin like this one: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ultimate-coming-soon-page to do what you are trying to do.

    By using a plugin, you are still able to play around with a theme and get it just right before anyone else sees it. This one in particular lets your visitors see your “coming soon” page where only logged in users can see the actual site.
