I’m trying to setup a main site as a splash page and then 2 sites in subdirectories like so:

skyire.com (splash page — it doesn’t even need to be worpdress)
    skyire.com/ca
    skyire.com/us

But even though I selected the option for subdirectories all 3 sites seem to think they are on the same url: http://skyire.com

It looks setup properly at http://skyire.com/wp-admin/network/sites.php because it shows subdirectories. But if I hover over ‘visit’ I can see the same url for all 3 sites. No /ca or /us appended.

I cut and paste the settings it gave me into the .htaccess. I can’t figure out if its my host (godaddy unfortunately) or something I did wrong? Help?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • The “site address” and “wordpress address” both need to have the url+subdirectory in their entries.
    This doc is relevant:

    This may also help:

    Thanks I’ll take a look.

The weird thing is it shows the correct urls under Sites > All Sites and when I click edit it shows the correct url for the specific site in the Info tab. But on the Settings tab that summarizes the sites settings both the Site Url and Home are wrong. If I edit them and hit ‘save’ it just resets them back to the root url (skyire.com)

The only solution that I could get to work is to go into phpmyadmin and locate the 3 wp_options (3 sites) in the structure. Then manually edit the urls and home for the 2 sites that were in subdirectories to add /ca and /us

The question is why the hell didn’t it add those when I installed them! Sorry Just venting after 2 days 😀 I suspect its the wordpress (ultimate) plan my client has with godaddy. I swear they’ve caused me nothing but grief since 2010. Using namescheap and dreamhost for everything I can in the future.
