Correct me if i am wrong, but

“Help us improve the Site Kit plugin by allowing tracking of anonymous usage stats. All data are treated in accordance with Google Privacy Policy”

means in my opinion, an developer is asking for some system configurations by WordPress, used plugins, usage stats by the site owner or anything else.

On Google it means, we activate Google Analytics on the whole site and tell this “tracking of anonymous usage stats”. Whats wrong with you guys? What are your problems with Privacy matters? Why doing an company like Google so hard with privacy?

    Think about it!

@scysys thanks for your inquiry and sharing your concern.

Are you referring to this option in the plugin?

If so, this is an optional setting for users of Site Kit to allow tracking about the use of the plugin. It is anonymous (personally identifiable data is not tracked or stored) and in accordance with Google Privacy Policy.

Usage tracking occurs where the Site Kit plugin is integrated in the WordPress admin, not the whole site. The information is used for product development and improvements.

Opting in or out is always a choice (it is not selected by default), and the option can be updated from the Site Kit settings under Site Kit > Settings > Admin Settings at any time.

Please let us know if there is a particular concern for which we can clarify or look into.

Referring to this Checkbox: “Help us improve the Site Kit plugin by allowing tracking of anonymous usage stats. All data are treated in accordance with Google Privacy Policy”

But you have absolutely right. This was my failure. I browsed the Site after installing the Plugin and saw Google Analytics on every Page. After your Post i checked it and its like you say only for the logged in Admin not for Users.

@scysys Correct, as a logged in user you may have noticed the tracking code.

If you have any further queries feel free to get in touch, and be sure to share your experience of using Site Kit.
