  • Please, if anyone can help:

I was trying to delete something out of my sidebar earlier, and ended up taking all of the coding out totally, leaving just one ad in there.

It took me over four hours to do the sidebar, and it is saved nowhere else. Is there any way (either through wordpress or some other option) to get back what was in the file that holds the code that puts the stuff in the sidebar?

  • Try looking at your page cache in google. Also, try looking in your temp internet files and temp windows folders.

Neither exist. The Google Cache is from before the site got a new template. No temp internet files on the computer.

Ouch. Well, I don’t know what else to suggest. You’ll have to grab the sidebar.php file from the theme distro again and try to remember what you had changed….

I guess you don’t have the file still open in an editor and can try CTRL-Z (undo), right?

Tried that right after it happened. Still had it open in a firefox tab but it didn’t work after I’d saved it. Another four hours down the drain.

I’m sorry…. been there done that. The second time that sort of thing happened to me was when I started using a real editor….
