Using WP theme Twenty Eleven. I’ve noticed for some time that my menu and the tab were not the same. The menu in my dashboard showed an older menu that I had made. I had only a few tabs at the top of my site such as “Home”, “Contact Us”, “Product Categories” etc. I recently added many categories and subcategories to my “Product Categories” tab by adding new pages. This worked fine though it still showed the old categories in my Menu list.

The other day, while looking at my site I clicked on “Menus”. I saw the old category menu and several sample menus I had created. After changing it between the samples I cannot get it back to the original way it was set up. It had only a few tabs with drop down menus. I need this back. Now it only shows my old menu and no drop down categories and subcategories.

Is there a setting in my pages area? Again, before I went through the menus every tab was a reflection of the pages I had created and had drop down categories. Now it seems to show the pages and old menu withought a drop down option.

    Ideas? Suggestions?

Do you have the correct hierarchy of pages/categories in Appearance > Menus ?

When I set it up there was no menu selected. When I selected a menu it of course changed. I did not notice that I could select no menu.
    Got it now.
