• Hello!

I am using the GeneratePress theme on my WordPress site, and despite trying several solutions, I cannot remove the archive list that appears on the left sidebar of my blog.

    I have checked the following:

    1. Widgets: I cannot find any “Archives” widget in the sidebar or in the widget customizer.
    2. Theme Settings: I have checked Appearance > Customize and I don’t see any option related to the archive list or date-based listings.
    3. Plugins: I deactivated plugins that could be affecting this, like Jetpack, Elementor, and others related to sidebar customization, but the archive list is still visible.
    4. Theme Code: I checked the sidebar.php and functions.php files but couldn’t find any code related to the archive list in the sidebar.
    5. Block Editor: I checked pages and posts, and it doesn’t seem to be an “Archives” block inserted in the content.

I have also cleared the cache and disabled all plugins without success.

Has anyone experienced this issue or can suggest what else I could check to remove the archive list from the sidebar?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi there,

the link you provide requires admin login, thus I can not see it.

but I did check your homepage, it looks like a normal widget, you should be able to see it at appearance > widgets > left sidebar. But without seeing the backend of your site, it’s hard to tell.

any chance you can try disabling all plugins to see if that removes the widget?

Sorry, this is the correct link: https://vozyemociones.com/blog/

The widgets in the left sidebar are empty, and I’ve deactivated all plugins, but the issue persists.

If I try to add a widget (just as a test) to the left sidebar and update the page, I can only see the text and not the other widgets (Search and Archives).

Is this a default setup? THANKS!

    Hi there,

if a sidebar widget area is left empty then GP will auto populate it with the search and archive widget. To remove those you need to add your own widget/block to that widget area.

Sorted out!. That was… simple. Silly me!

    Thanks David.

    Glad to be of help!
