Support » Developing with WordPress » HELP – Site is not requiring username/password for admin

  • I pulled up my site and clicked on Admin and it let me make a post and publish it with no username and password. It then let me go to dashboard, change my password, etc.

This can’t possibly be right. I emptied my cache thinking it was automatic but something must be amiss.

    Thanks in advance for suggestions.

    Chris

  • Now, while on the main page of your blog, click “Logout”.

    Okay, phew!

It must have been a Safari issue – I called my hosting company to check on this and when he pulled it up rather than Site Admin under META he saw LOGIN. I then pulled the site up on my other browser and it too said LOGIN.

So it looks like this is a caching issue.

    Any comments are welcome.

    Thanks,

    Chris

    What are we commenting on?

Yeah, when you login to your blog, you can check a box “remember me”. That sets the cookie and next time you can jump straight in.

All well and good as long as you’re the only one using that browser. 🙂
