[HELP] Running WordPress Template Without WP Installed? (5 posts)

    Hey there,

Would it be possible for a clients website to be running a WordPress template without him installing it on his server?

Essentially, we don't want him to have to transfer his website to us, or have to install WordPress.

The only method I can think of is having his web-page redirected to a separate domain hosted by us, with wordpress installed.

Can anybody think of any way at all that this could be achieved? Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks so much for your help! I'm absolutely stumped as to how it can be done, so would really like your help!

  2. Use an iFrame at his domain/host pulling a WP site from your server.

Would that not require him to install wordpress first?

Could you elaborate on this slightly. Sorry, I'm just not too sure what you mean.

What's the reason of not transferring the website to your server? I mean, if you have to install WP for the client, the contents would have to get in there too, right?

So, I guess you mean that you don't want them to transfer the domain to you? In that case I would change the DNS of the domainname (adjust the IPaddress it points to, to the IPaddress of your server) and just setup the WP site on your server (assuming this is possible).

If that isn't possible a lot of domain providers give you the possibility of using a frame redirect (which I wouldn't recommend btw, but if there really is no other way..).

  5. Install WP on your own server. Display an iFrame of that site at his domain and host.
