Support » Fixing WordPress » Help Request: Multiple domains and static page appearance.

  • Hi there,

Just a quick preamble: I’m pretty new to wordpress, so please be kind!

    Now, here’s some information:

    I own five domain names (CrafterlyRock.com, CrafterlyRock.net, CrafterlyRock.info, CrafterlyRock.biz and CrafterlyRock.org).

I have a wordpress blog running on my Webhost in the directory /blog/.

All domain names are directed towards the blog, which is also on blog.<domain name>

The blog is stored in the folder /blog/.

The “primary domain” on my webhost is crafterlyrock.com

Now let me explain what I’m trying to do.
I want WordPress to display the URL in the Address Bar as the DOMAIN or SUBDOMAIN used to reach the blog, even when a hyperlink is clicked.

In it’s current state, you reach the blog through, say, blog.crafterlyrock.net and it displays that address when you hit it.

However, once you click a link, it directs to http://crafterlyrock.com/blog/<path here>

I would like this to either:

Display as blog.crafterlyrock.<domain suffix>/<path here> (This would be the perfect, ideal world option)

    or, more likely:

blog.crafterlyrock.<domain suffix>, with no path displayed.

Are there any methods with which I could do this? Please keep in mind I am a relative newcomer to WordPress but not a newcomer to web technologies!

Thank you so much for reading this,
    Alastair ‘Chartax’ Campbell.
