On a test bed using the inventory of one of my store sites, I had built a woocommerce store with the intention of converting over my production store from another ecommece plugin. It looked like a lot of work so put it off. Then became interested in using elementor and found Astra and Astra sites. Used the Sites to pull over a template and did the coversion to a nice looking store in about 15 minutes. Really amazing considering I was looking at about 2 to 3 weeks of work.

So my request is how to I take the test bed results and get them converted over to my production store. Is there an export settings and import on the other side that will make this part easy.

    Thanks for the help.

  • Hello @flyfisher842,

Does your existing e-commerce store have a CSV exporter or any kind of data exporter?

WooCommerce as a CSV importer built in with which you should be able to map fields from your existing store to WooCommerce’s fields.

Here is a documentation post from WooCommerce which explains this in detail – https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/product-csv-importer-exporter/#section-3

Originally I was am and am using MarketPress in the production store. I spent considerable time with a copy of my inventory on a test bed with Woocommerce getting used to it. I remember playing around with the export import and at the time the variable products were the problem. Looks like those can now be exported too. Thanks for the reminder. Will have to spend some time practicing before moving it all back to the production store. The Astra conversion from the marketpress to woocommerce was truly amazing. I will be using Astra and the site options on more of my project for sure. Thank you for making those options available. They help with my elementor practice too. Since blocks are here to stay I am learning those too.

When I get ready, I will install woocommerce on the production store and make it the same as on my test bed. Do the same with the astra theme and site options. Good chance I will be able to convert the store right there and not have to move anything. This just occurred to me and would not have without this dicussion. Thanks again.

I did some searching and found out that WooCommerce’s support was asked the same question about how to migrate from MarketPress to WooCommerce and here is their solution – https://wordpress.org/support/topic/marketpress-to-woocommerce-4/#post-9934165

Should you need any further help, please don’t hesitate to let me know!
