Help putting search function in header

  • Hello –

I would like to free up space in my sidebar of my blog (reverse-mortgage-information.org) by moving the seach function to the far right of the header (hopefully on the same line as the header or tagline without increasing header width).

I’ve tried inserting ‘<?php include (TEMPLATEPATH . ‘/searchform.php’); ?>’ at various places in the code below and also through “admin/options” but without luck. (My PHP/CSS skills are well below novice level.) I also searched on the forum, but did not find anything.

    ‘<div id=”header”><h1>/”><?php bloginfo(‘name’); ?></h1>
    <p class=”tagline”><?php bloginfo(‘description’); ?>’

Can anyone help me with this? Or is it not doable for some reason?

    Thanks

  • <?php include (TEMPLATEPATH . '/searchform.php'); ?> is the right one.

What happens when you try to insert it?

    Well –

    1. When I try to insert it through admin/options (i.e adding code after text header or tag line), the code shows where I want it to but as text – not functioning searchbox;

    2. When I insert it directly into the code, seachbox appears, but it pushes tagline down (if I insert after H1) or it falls below tagline (if I insert after tagline). In either case it messes up the appearance.

    What I want is:

    Page Title Searchbox
    Tagline

(With searchbox to FAR right; couldn’t get to show above)

    Not:

    Page Title
    Tagline
    Searchbox

    Thanks

    I have the same problem…
