media file uploader window is blank

Sorry if this is a noob question but am new to WordPress.

When creating a post or a page, when I single-click on the Add Media button, nothing happens. When I double click it, a large white screen replaces the browser screen but there are no “upload” buttons or anything else in the box. A large white screen that says “Insert Media” at the top,”Create gallery” and “set featured image” on the side and below that “insert from url”

If I “drag and drop” mages into it, the url is replaced with C: and the path to my image.

Please, what am I doing wrong!
