Hi Matt,
The post you pointed to has the image post format assigned to it, which is why its image is displayed more prominently and at full width. This works well for posts in which you wish to prominently feature a single image.
If you’d like to feature multiple images on a post and have them displayed at full width, then I suggest making use of the gallery post format.
Posts that have the gallery post format assigned to them will style images in a gallery more prominently and at full width.
You can find steps to organise images into a gallery here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/gallery/
In order to have your images displayed one on top of each other, as they are now, choose “Thumbnail Grid” from the layout dropdown menu and then “1” from columns.
As an extra note: I noticed that your site is hosted over at WordPress.com while these forums are intended for folk who are hosted elsewhere and running on the free software available here at WordPress.org.
If you’re unsure about the differences between the two types of WordPress (WordPress.com and WordPress.org) this guide gives a good overview.
As your site is hosted over at WordPress.com, the forums there are the best place for to get support. If you have any extra questions then please start a new thread on the Themes forum:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/themes
Give those steps a try and post over on WordPress.com if extra questions come up. We’ll be happy to help further from there.
Thanks!
Hi Siobhan,
Sorry for taking a little while to respond.
Thank you for dealing with my question (which, embarrassingly, is a really simple fix!) and for all the additional information – all of which is really useful.
If I could give you 5 stars for the response I would give you 6.
Thanks again.
Matt
You’re most welcome, Matt. Thank you for your kind words, too. 🙂
Not a simple or super intuitive fix at all!
Please don’t hesitate to let us know if extra questions come up.
