  • You can download a previous version from here:

I just did it and it restored my website.

Always have a backup of your site. Especially before updating wordpress itself.

Which one? How do I get it?

    This one for instance:

Download it to your desktop, unzip it, access your website via an ftp client like Filezilla, and upload the unzipped file in your plugin folder (to replace the latest version of jetpack).

ALternatively, you can download to your desktop, delete jetpack 4.0 from your plugins, and go to to upload (no need to unzip it in this case)

    But 1st solution is best.

Ok, so I uploaded the zipped version without deleting the old one. But now my site is working with the new version activated. Did they fix the problem with the new? Am I the only one that this latest update broke their site?

Downgrade, too. But there is no connection to, only 403 :-/

same here.destroy my website the new update.

i had a problem, however disabling the ‘publicize’ option in jetpack got me back up and running

    Sorry everyone for the trouble!

To get rid of the error, you can log in to your site via FTP or CPanel, and delete the existing Jetpack plugin folder:

You’ll find the Jetpack plugin folder here:

         jetpack - DELETE THIS FOLDER

If you’re not sure how to do this, you can ask your hosting company for help. They should also have documentation explaining how to edit or remove files from your site using FTP or a File Manager in your admin panel.

After that’s done, you can reinstall the version of Jetpack prior to 4.0, which is 3.9.6. You can download it here:

3.9.6 will ask you to upgrade to 4.0, but just ignore that for now until the GitHub issue above is resolved.

We’re also working on a new release to fix the problem, and you can follow our progress here:

I’ll also post again here once that release is ready.

    Sorry again for this!
