OK seems crazy to be worried about this... but.... I have three new subscribers and have no idea where they came from.

I have an aweber form om my site in several locations. I also have a contact page. But... I do NOT have any other way for people to subscribe.

That said - how did these three new folks sign up? I don't want to miss out on having my followers on my sweber list. Are they find my blog through some other method?

Thanks for the assistance! I'm new to all this.

If you are speaking of new registered users with Subscriber roles at your site, go to Dashboard > Settings > General and un-check "Anyone can register". Even if you do not have a "Register" link or button showing anywhere, it is still possible for any at all to go directly to your site's registration link that can be disabled by un-checking that box.

    Thanks much!!! That's super helpful!
Can you tell me what it means that they have registered?
Am I excluding possible followers by doing this?

A registered user has an actual User Role with its respective Capabilities at your site:

Unless you are wanting people to be able to make (and even to edit) actual Pages and Posts, there is really no reason for having any registered users other than yourself. An exception, of course, might be that of an account for a Developer or someone doing some actual work at your site.

"Subscriber" happens to be the name of a given role for registered users, but the term "Subscriber" also gets used for people subscribing to a newsletter or whatever else that might be available at your site. So no, overall, not having registered users does not prohibit anyone from being a "Subscriber" or "Follower" or leaving a comment at your site.

Thanks so much!! That helps a TON!!!
you are the first person in a line of support specialists who hit the nail on the head. I'm super grateful.
I'll delete them and invite them to be real subscribers through my awber form.
    Have a great day!
