Hi there!
Do you want to change the design of your site or keep the existing design but just make it responsive?
Hi. A bit of both really. We have attempted this before, and each and every time, what was promised never came thru, or the people we asked to do it couldn’t handle anything larger than 5 pages! The site needs a visual update for sure, but somethings we want to keep the same too
Really? It doesn’t sound that complex, unless I’m missing something here 🙂
Your site still looks great and wow, super fast!
I would suggest using a theme like Responsive.
It doesn’t look much aesthetically, but it’s a great starter for a responsive site.
That theme could quickly be made to look like your site and has built in most of the ‘responsiveness’ you’d need to get started.
But it would require you to get dirty with the code. Depends on your skill level I guess. 🙂
Good luck with the update!

cool, thanks for the info, i will check that out. Yes, the site is fast, but thats taken a year of coding and stripping out stuff, and im not finished yet!
If you have a decent knowledge of HTML & CSS, I would recommend Montezuma. Unlike most themes, which only give you a limited set of options, Montezuma allows you to totally change the structure and appearance of the site through the use of virtual templates & CSS files. Sidebar on the left, on the right, two sidebars on the right, widget area in the footer, it’s completely up to you. And you can design custom templates for those pages which require a different appearance. If I’m building a site based on the appearance of an existing site, this is the one I use, because it is so customizeable. The virtual template files are in PHP, but the amount of PHP code is very small and easy to understand (mostly function calls to retrieve information).
Here’s a sampling of sites built using Montezuma, that show how customizeable the theme is:
Cartidea
Raise a Child
Warsztatgier
Bionic Style
Rishona Campbell
Beard Food
Mattress Warehouse
Venice Hongwanji Buddhist Temple
thank you for the replies, lots to think about!
