• Hi, I’m hoping someone can help me!

I’m running 1.2 (I know..I know..but upgrading to 1.5 isn’t feasible for me right now, and 1.2 is running so very well on my site…).

But I *need* to be able to add custom keywords for each post..I’ve searched and searched the site, and found two likely plugins which are compatible with 1.2 to do this – bunny’s technorati tags, and mosie’s plugin… I’ve installed each of them, and *neither* of them are showing up in my writing template (that’s what they are supposed to do, right? Add a “tags” or other new field?)

Heh..I note with some irony that that very field is right below this post box. 🙂

If anybody has any suggestions, I sure would love to hear them, either for a step I may be missing to enable these plugins, or for another way to include custom keywords.

    Thank you!

    Anne

  • I am not sure which plugins did you find (BTW, it’s always a smart idea to make exact reference to the plugins you mention bu giving the URI!), but as far as I can remember some of them just put automatically the keywords in the head section based on your post – without showing up in the Write area.
I checked your blog’s source, and the keywords (+description) are there.

    Sorry..I found Bunny’s Technorati Tags:

    http://dev.wp-plugins.org/wiki/BunnysTechnoratiTags

    and Moisie’s template_metatags.php:

    http://me.moisie.net/plugins/templates_metatags/

The reason you see keywords (and description) on the site now is that I have the template tagged to use a portion of the_excerpt (using the_excerpt_reloaded) to do fake keywords and description, but it’s not really sufficient. I’m looking for a plugin which works with 1.2 which actually adds a keyword field to the writing interface, so I can manually assign keywords to each post. Xfish supposedly did that, but all links to it 402 now. 🙁
