• I have downloaded a couple of free themes to try it with but still no way. I am developing it locally on wamp for now. The main question is “how do I make a WEBSITE that looks exactly like d theme I have? I have don a lot of google search to a point I don’t know any word I haven’t use. It keeps amazind me because I see a lot of really really cool websites built with wordpress. How pls, is it done? I understand that wordpress is run by php files making the pages. But how do you get content to those pages in the first page. Real contents not a post and or picture. Thanks for your help.

With lots of knowledge, experience, help, coffee and coding. I have hundreds of hours and even a bit of money paid to others invested in getting my Twenty Twelve Child Theme to look and act like I want, and now this week someone is going to begin making it work well in small viewports. Be cautious about paying money for a commercial, not-dowloaded-from-here theme without first knowing you have the expertise or help you will need to make it what you want it to be.

Do you need help with a specific theme? If so, then we can answer this.

@leejosepho, explain yourself more. Is there a way you can help?

Lemme try and explain more. Basically the content(body part) is d main thing.

So how do I add content to page?

Or how do I build a page I have in mind and add contents to it?

    Hope this’ll help, Andrew.

Is there a way you can help?

No, I was only trying to say what you are wanting is not going to come out of a box. I have no idea what it might cost to have a custom theme made to do exactly what you want and to look exactly as you want it to look, and these forums are not for those kinds of answers anyway.

What kind of site (not what kind of theme, but what type of website) are you wanting? And then, are there any downloadable-from-here themes that come even close to what you want your site to look and act like? Everything here is free, and those of us who do not have deep pockets can still have what we want and need with a bit of patience and work.

@leejosepho, you just spoke my mind.

    I need a photograhpy website.

I have gotten a theme that can deliver that.

Now a little bit of patience I have got.

W0RK; I hope this means “how to actually make the website from the theme.”

The last part about WORK is what I need to know.

Does that theme come from here? If so, there are people here who will help you learn what you need to be able to do for at least the simpler things. But if you go somewhere and purchase a theme, there is where you will have to get help or support since few people here would know anything about it.

Putting content up on a page is as simple as typing into any WYSIWYG text screen, and images to post on a page can be handled in that same edit screen. Dealing with the kinds of images and displays you want for a photography site will be a bit more involved, but you can do it.

Also, become accustomed to Google being your friend who can go find anything anywhere at any time, you sometimes just have to figure out what to request!

Do you already have a domain name and a host for your site?

Ah, I just caught on to your main question:

The main question is “how do I make a WEBSITE that looks exactly like d theme I have?

I see you say you are working locally, and whatever theme you have that runs in the latest version of WordPress will run exactly the same way in any WordPress installation. One thing about that, however, is to not have hard-coded links in the theme’s structure or templates, whatever you call them. You can have links in your site’s *content*, but that is in the database while your theme is merely a “skin” for displaying that content. So when the time comes, you would do a WordPress installation on a host of your choosing, then upload your theme, then copy your database into your host’s server and get it all re-coordinated in its new home.
