I’ve spent hours trying to get this to work. I’m not a very technical person but I’ve tried everything and spent ages looking on the internet for answers.
I want to use wordpress on my computer offline. I was told I should get WAMP. I installed wamp. I can type in “localhost” into my browser and get to the WAMP page. When I click on “phpmyadmin”, I get an error message. This one
“#1045 – Access denied for user ‘root’@’localhost’ (using password: YES)”
“phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.”
The first message used to read “(using password:NO)”
I went into the config.inc file and changed “notallowpassword” from true to false. I also entered in a password where there was previously nothing.
So in the config.inc file I have username:root and password:mypassword
I get the same error message now except for it says “YES” instead of “NO” in the error message.
I cannot access the “MySQL” console because it asks for a password. When I type in the password I have in the config.inc file it denies me access.
This never worked, I never set a password originally and never made an account. I tried XAMPP and had the same problem. I disabled UAC.
I would be incredible greatful to anyone who could help
