Okay, so im new to wordpress, i've never used it before, and i want to know if i can create a theme based on my own layout and kind of, insert it?
    i have created this - http://i27.tinypic.com/k3tbgy.png
and I wish to have a wordpress sidebar to the right, and a main blog in the middle white section. is there a way i can simply 'include' these wordpress elements into a normal html page, or a way that I can create a wordpress theme using this background? I want to be able to use the buttons at the top as links, obviously.

Someone must be able to understand what i'm trying to say! haha.

You're new to WordPress. I hope you are not new to design, CSS and HTML. You'll just need to cut that design to fit WordPress. Go find a theme that is similar to what you have in mind and examine it to see how it's all put together. But PHP includes won't work.

Yes, I understand what you are saying, it's just that you may not be all that happy with my answer.

And there's always the WP Pro Forum, where you can ask someone to mortise the design for you. For a fee of course.

No, i'm not new to design, css or html, just wordpress.
That's what I was thinking, i'm just going to have to find a theme and learn how to modify it.

And I will caution you that it's kind of tricky to fit links to buttons. You'll need to hand code those. Basically, just start creating your layout (divisions, etc.). Those will be specific to your design. If you want to look at a bare bones theme, I suggest PlainText. When you look at the stylesheet, you'll be able to figure out what is WP specific and what is just general styling. And look at the templates to see where you wind your layout divisions and other styling hooks into the templates. You'll have a lightbulb moment, trust me. You just need to get in and get your hands dirty. Good luck with it! :)
