# Help! Lost access to wp-admin

 * Hi Folks,
    I recently updated to version 5.4 on this site and also the updraft
   plugin. Now I’ve signed out and I get a white screen which says ‘not available’
   for the wp-admin or wp-admin/index.php pages.
 * I can see the site is still live but I have no dashboard access. Unfortunately
   I dont have FTP or cPanel access for the moment either so I have no way to change
   the plug-in folder’s name, or deactivate them. Is there anything that can be 
   done? I would really appreciate any help!

 * It’s a 403 error. I suspect there’s an issue with permissions someplace. As you’d
   need FTP or cPanel to fix this, I think it’s best to contact your host to see
   if they’ll look into it for you.

 * Thanks Steve. Ill look at getting cPanel or FTP over the weekend. Once I gain
   access would you recommend changing permissions or deactivating plug-ins first?

 * I literally just took over the site. An update of the plugins, theme and wp version
   were the first things I did and I cant remember security plugins off the top 
   of my head (if there are any).

 * As soon as you can login, click the button to reinstall WordPress on the UPDATES
   link from the dashboard. Then, deactivate, delete, and reinstall Updraft. That
   puts you at a known, clean position regarding those files — just in case something
   went wrong when you updated them. That should probably fix up the file permissions,
   too.
 * Files should be 644, directories 755. All should be owned by the same user under
   which php-fpm is running.

 * Wanted to give some resolution….
    I got FTP access and renamed the plugin folder.
   This allowed me to log in through wp-admin. I was able to then able to root out
   the offending plug-in (Updraft).
