should be able to just add it to the links section of your sidebar / blog roll etc – might want to rename the links title
A link to your site also helps people to help you.
This may help you:
every link redirects back to your main site
do you have redirects set up?
what is the exact url of installed blog?
I have no idea of the url of my blog , complety confused and upset my blog should helen morton photography somewhere in my website http://www.helenmortonphotography.co.uk
ok found http://www.helenmortonphotography.co.uk/wp-admin/
but think this is my view and not the outside world one.
That is your view. The blog address is going to be your site address plus whatever the name of the folder where you put your blog is.
ie – site address is “www.mysite.com”
and the folder name is “wordpress”
then your blog is at “www.mysite.com/wordpress”
When you are at your admin page, click on “Visit Site” and it will take you to the blog and you can also get the address there.
ok think I have done something wrong , I never created a folder to put my blog in and if I click visit site it takes me to my normal website.
ok now I have moved everything to do with wordpress into a folder called blog is that right?
ahh that made it worse , so I have moved everything back , please help
Here’s your problem. You have:
Your main site: http://www.helenmortonphotography.co.uk/index.htm
Since WordPress is designed to strip the “index.php” from the URL, as it should, all requests to the blog will wind up going to your main site, as it is the first index found alphabetically.
If you want your WordPress blog to replace your main site, just delete the index.htm file.
If you want to keep your main site, you’ll have to move your WordPress blog to another directory, like /blog/ . You can do this one of two ways:
1. Delete the WordPress files and database and re-install everything in a new directory. You will lose all of your blog content.
2. Move the WordPress files to a new directory. Follow this guide:
tired number2 and got a blank page ahhhhhhh.
I had put files in a folder called blog but when I went to that directory got a empty page
Did you change the URLs in Settings/General before moving? Did you reset your permalinks in Settings/Permalinks after moving?
gave up and cleared database etc and reinstalled wordpress but now getting you appear to have already installed wordpress eek
Are you manually installing WordPress or using an automatic installer like Fantastico?
