Help Installing? Beginner? | WordPress.org

I used Softaculous to install WP to my site, I can see it in the FileManager under public_html. I don’t know if this is the correct place for it, or if I’m just missing something as to where to go from there.

That would be a correct location as long as you want your WordPress site to appear in the public root for your site. Are you having problems?

I’ve been following http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress#Step_4:_Upload_the_files . But I am getting stuck at the Install . php step. I can not find the correct folder to actually install WP.

WordPress “installs” in whatever directory you place the WP files. So if you’ve uploaded everything directly to public_html then it’s in the domain root (.com/install.php).

If you have it in a subfolder (public_html/wordpress/) then you’ll access the install in that subdirectory (.com/wordpress/install.php)
