help importing data

    I have a large amount of data (>5000pages)that is currently in word format.It consists of questions,a paragraph each with 6-7lines.
    I want to “import” them into wordpress each seperate with comments underneath for disccusion.
    I’ve played with various xml codes but nothing seams satisfactory or automatic enough. I guess a script of some kind is in order but before i start coding i wonder if any one else had any ideas or if there already a script that can be modified for this.
    any ideas?
